I just turned the a c on for the first time this year and i noticed that my house was not cooling.
Furnace and ac running at same time.
Next i checked on the furnace it was also running.
I m no expert but i m pretty sure that isn t supposed to happen.
I felt the air coming out of the register and it was warm.
I looked at the thermostat and it was set to 72 the room temp was 79.
As it gets colder one of the common questions asked in forums is i turned my furnace on and the heat came on but why did the air conditioner a c also come on the shortest answer is your fan in the air conditioner is turned on you have to turn it to auto so that it doesn t come on.
The ac kicks on and starts blowing cold air and about 2 min later the furnace ignites and the all the fresh aced air becomes hot.
It sounds like it is programed to either high or low.
Furnace heats the air in the winter and the blower circulates air through the home ac evaporator coil removes heat and humidity in summer.
Air conditioners and furnaces how do they work together.
You need to scroll through the menu on your thermostat and set the fan to auto.
So i checked on the a c and it was running.
Ac is running fine freon etc all good to go.
