Current trends are moving towards leaving much smaller grout lines between tiles.
Grout fills the joints between tiles.
The large format 18 inch tiles should have inch space in between.
This joint should then be filled with 100 silicone to allow for expansion and contraction as well as providing a waterproof layer.
Many bathrooms are built with an intentional gap between the wall tiles and the bathtub.
Doing so will prevent moisture from accumulating which can also protect against the growth of mold and mildew.
Most of these cracks can be sealed with caulk.

In addition leave a 1 16 to 1 8 expansion joint between the main wall tile and shower floor tile or adjacent wall tile.
There is a gap of say 5mm to 8mm give or take high between where the floor tiles meet the wall tiles in the bathroom.
