The problem is either due to a blocked path between the sensors dirty eyes loose wires at the sensors or at the motor head or just bad sensors.
Garage door goes up but not down with remote.
The test again in the opposite direction.
It goes partway down reverses direction and goes back up again.

Carefully check the wiring to the sensors on the track the sensors on the electric eye and receiver at the lower tracks and limit switches on the button of the tracks.
